Forbidden City

The first day in Beijing we decided to just walk around and head towards the Forbidden City...instead of a tour. It ended up being a longer walk with the kids than anticipated. We were bombarded with so many people on the way trying to sell us stuff and show us their art on the way. Then we we finally got there it was so crowded and the kids were so tired we didn't get tickets to go inside. We just looked around the courtyard area. We did a little shopping on the way there and back and ate at a McDonald's. Nathan enjoyed the Chinese McDonald's menu(spicy chicken wings!) Merry saw her first squaty potty and took a picture...the picture is on her camera so I can't post it!
