So the pictures I am posting are not in the right order.
We got Lauran in our arms around 3:30 pm. We were told by our social worker that children this age will either cry and grieve outwardly or shut down. Lauran was completely shut down from what I could tell when we got her. She would not make eye contact what so ever...with anyone(as you will see in some of the pictures). She did not cry at all but completely ignored us! She still has yet to cry. Once we were back at the hotel she did the same. One of the kids found the balloons we brought for Megans b-day and apparently those were funny. She started playing with them and giggling a bit. We went out to dinner for Megan's b-day later that evening and our guide bought Megan a cake. So some of the pictured I posted are from that. The cake was beautiful! Lauran continued to be very quiet but did make eye contact at times.
When we were back at the hotel and gave her a bath she totally opened up! She started tossing stuffed animals around with everyone(and other toys) and found it completely hilarious. She started babbling words and chatting. She was repeating words Megan would say. I gave her a picture book and would point to things and name them(in Chinese) and get very excited. She was completely hysterical from 8 to 9 pm. Non stop laughing! Oh..and Lauran is not a little peanut like Megan. She is definitely shorter...but very solid! I am guessing she probably weighs more than Megan:)
The boys are completely in love with her. Megan is enjoying her but is having a hard time with sharing me :( I thought she would be ok going to Merry or Todd but had a tough time tonight! The night ended with her cuddling in bed with Lauran though:) We are so happy to have her in our arms. Pray Lauran continues to form a healthy bond with us!!
Thank you for all your prayers and support!!

Aww...I love checking your blog when I first wake up in the morning (ok..maybe afternoon...lol). Of course today were the pictures I've been waiting for. I was so happy to read that she end up smiling and giggling (Yeah for balloons!!!).
I'm sure Megan will learn to share you after time, or just split ya down the half! haha
So Megan to just crawl into bed and cuddle!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEGAN!!!! HAPPY GOTCHA DAY LAURAN!!!!! HAPPY EVERYTHING ELSE TO EVERYONE ELSE! =)

I'm so glad to hear everything is going well. It sounds like even though Lauran is taking some time to adjust that she is also finding some time to have some fun! The picture of the girls in the matching dresses is adorable. I'm sure Megan will learn to adjust as well. Once her and Lauran start to bond more she probably won't mind sharing you as much. -Keri
Oh, you guys she is TOOO cute!! She's right about the age Ellie was when we got her :0) How amazing "God puts the lonely in families!!!" I totally get the "sharing mom" thing - we've had Evie over 1.5yrs and it's STILL a struggle here!! I tell the girls, who are only 8 mos apart, that SOMEDAY they will like each other!! What size do you guess Lauren is in?? Keep sending those photos!! PS that squatty potty is the cleanest one I have EVER seen! Lucky :0)
I got all choked up when I read the news and saw all the wonderful pictures. It is simply wonderful!
Give Lauran a hug and kiss from us and tell the kids we miss them and congrats! :)
Happy Birthday, Megan! What an awesome day for her birthday!
Congrats and many blessings to you and Todd!! We can't wait for your return!
Love,
Cris
She is so beautiful. What a blessing! We will pray for an easy transition. Glad it is going well so far. The girls look so cute together.

Hi, Barb!
I've been reading your blog daily! Your entire family looks so happy, and we will continue to pray specifically for what you ask. I just love that Megan and Lauran cuddled in bed--how cute!
