Great Wall

The Great Wall is definitely "Great"! Very difficult to walk up though...especially with a 4 year old. Megan, Merry, Nathan and I only went up 3 sections. Todd and Ryan went up about 8 more sections after us. Nathan was freaking out about the heights and Megan was having a hard time just walking. It was very crowded too. So most of the pictures I have with Megan and Nathan are on Merry's camera...since Todd took our camera to the"tippy top" as Megan kept calling it. It was an amazing sight from the wall and extremely windy...as you will see from our family picture...where it looks like my hair is flying!

One of the interesting parts of the Great wall was that 10 - 15 chinese people stopped us to take pictures with them. Many of them were interested in Megan, but mostly it seemed that they were excited to see Americans. Nathan couldn't get over this. I kept telling him to look around and show me anyone else with blonde hair and blue eyes. In America everyone comes from so many backgrounds. In China 99.9% of the people look Chinese.

This is Ryan's Flat Fred. It is a school project that started right before we left..and how perfect for our trip. He is to bring Flat Fred with him and journal about the adventures he had with Flat Fred. How cool that Ryan gets to bring his to China!!

Todd's picture from the near tippy top!

Nathan at the bottom..his favorite spot. He just bought his first Chinese coke and is very excited.
