Some other misc. pictures from Beijing

Tomorrow(Sat) we leave for Nanning. We will get Lauran in our arms possibly Sunday but most likely Monday! We are very excited for the next part ! I feel like I was able to get into the swing of things here in Beijing and see a part of China that is very different than what I saw last time. Beijing was much different than the area we were in last time. It is much more modern and western looking. All the buildings were very beautiful and nice looking. There were a few little hidden places where "poverty" seemed to show up, but not nearly what I saw before. I think this trip will give us few different aspects of China!

I learned a few important tips though...like: carry TP everywhere, I need strollers for the girls, have a lot of patience, have fun and have a lot of patience(did I already say that)!

Next post will be from Nanning, Guangxi. Continue to pray for Lauran and her transition and patients for everyone here!! We can't wait to meet our little girl!

This teapot was on our way to the Forbidden City! Can anyone guess how they suspend it?

We tried a Chinese popsicle.... Megan was the only one who liked it.

This is the Jade factory we visited

I just thought this was cute :) I took the picture from the van.

Only in China! This was outside the Forbidden City

I love the pictures. Looks like a fun time.I think the teapot is held up by the water coming out, probably cement water, right? Beijing looks pretty nice. Glad the kids are having some fun. We are all anxiously waiting for the day you actually have Lauran in your arms. I am keeping all of you in my prayers. Love from Sunny 72 Mn. Mom/Grandma

Barb, it is so wonderful that you could go as a family to get Lauren. What a great education for you all. May God be with you as your family soon grows.

I think the teapot is held up my MAGIC! :)

Don't leave me hanging in suspense....HOW is the teapot suspended?? I also found it funny that you said you need a lot of "patients" while in China..I would have thought you had enough craziness and all...I think you meant patience =)
Ok....flat fred cracks me up...I can't wait to read the journal and hear about the journey!!! And those stairs at the great wall...OMG.....wow....what a work out!!! So far all your pictures look great..you do NOT look like a drowned rat...LOL..looks like you are having some nice weather....thanks for all the pics and the wonderful update.

I'm sitting at work eating my lunch with tears running down my face. I am so proud of all of you for adjusting your lives so radically so this precious child can live with a wonderful family. She is truly lucky to have ended up in your care, and I can hardly wait to meet her when things calm down (2012???) Enjoy every part of the trip, and every minute with the kids. It goes by incredibly fast, and sometimes it's hard to appreciate all the parts. Thank you for sharing your story and pictures on the blog so we can be part of the process. Carol U
